PMCST Policies:

GENERAL Policy:

1. Required Course Prerequisites: All course prerequisites will be emailed to the student/participant within 1-3 business days of a registration request. If course prerequisites have not been met and there has been no response or communication from the registrant to PMCST then the registrant does NOT have a reserved seat in the course. We are NOT always able to accommodate walk-ins. If you have any questions please let us know ASAP.

2. AHA Skills Sessions Only: A digital copy of all AHA Part 1 completion certificates must be emailed to Amanda@PreciousMinutesTraining.com a minimum of 24-hours prior to the course start time. This required digital option is the only option to provide us with your completed Part 1 and is a required course prerequisite. We are no longer accepting paper/printed copies at the course – it must be emailed in advance so we can verify the proper course was taken by the proper person within the proper timeframe as per AHA Training Site Guidelines. Registered students can email us a copy (PDF would be great!) or even take a photo of their printed completion certificate or computer screen and email it to us – as long as we have the FULL and LEGIBLE completion certificate.

CPR & FIRST AID Payment Policy:

1. Students will not receive their eCard via email until Precious Minutes CPR and Safety Training, LLC (PMCST) has been paid in full.

2. All returned checks are subject to a $35 fee.

3. Public Class Payment: Full or partial payment must be submitted to complete registration for your seat. If you have not been in contact with PMCST and have not submitted full or partial payment your seat is not saved. We are NOT always able to accommodate walk-ins. There are two options to submit payment for your training:

Option 1: Full Payment via Venmo or PayPal
Option 2: Non-Refundable $15 Seat Deposit via Venmo or PayPal, then remaining balance for your training is completed in-person at the course, via cash, check, or Venmo (i.e. for a $75 course, $15 is due upfront to commit, then the remaining $60 is due in-person)

4. Returning Student Discount: We value and appreciate your loyalty! For coming back to complete your certification renewal with PMCST every two years our returning students receive a $5 off discount on their course or $10 off if they bring a friend or coworker along new to PMCST.

5. Sibling Discount: For our Babysitting Training at our location or other specified locations there is a $5 off discount per sibling. This discount is not available at all host locations or for our Girl Scout badge courses.

Frequently asked questions – directly FROM THE AMERICAN HEART ASSOCIATION:

What is CPR?
Cardiopulmonary Resuscitation.

What is an AED? An automated external defibrillator (AED) is a portable electronic device that automatically diagnoses the life-threatening cardiac arrhythmias in a patient, and is able to treat them through defibrillation, the application of electrical therapy which stops the arrhythmia, allowing the heart to reestablish an effective rhythm.

What is the minimum age to learn CPR?
The AHA does not mandate a minimum age requirement for learning CPR. The ability to perform CPR is based more on body strength than age. Studies have shown that children as young as nine years old can learn and retain CPR skills.

Are American Heart Association courses OSHA compliant?
Our AHA Heartsaver Courses are for anyone with limited or no medical training who needs a course completion card for job, regulatory or other requirements. While these courses are designed to meet OSHA requirements, OSHA does not review or approve any courses for compliance. Through the AHA/OSHA Alliance, we work with OSHA to raise awareness about workplace safety and health to prevent injuries, illnesses, and fatalities in the workplace.

Which CPR course should a “first responder” or “professional rescuer” take?
First responders or professional rescuers generally include fire, police and emergency medical personnel. These types of prehospital professionals usually need to complete a Basic Life Support (BLS) course.

Which course should a daycare provider take?
The AHA’s Heartsaver Pediatric First Aid CPR AED Course is designed to meet regulatory requirements for child care workers in all 50 United States. The AHA offers this course in both classroom-based and eLearning formats.

Can I take an AHA CPR course online?
The AHA offers a variety of eLearning courses through OnlineAHA.org and our Distributors. For CPR and first aid courses, an eLearning course must be followed by a skills practice and testing session with an AHA Instructor within 60 days of completion and has an additional cost.

Do the AHA’s BLS courses include first aid?
